A BUCKIE dance club took the recent world line dancing championships in Blackpool by storm. IDance had one of its members, Carla Duncan, crowned the world’s best. Meanwhile, another 16 dancers from the Buckie-based club impressed the judges at the famous Winter Gardens venue, which attracted contestants from 20 different countries A large group of supporters travelled down to England for the championships, including Carla’s mum Sheryl. A hugely proud Sheryl said: “It’s a bit surreal to suddenly have a world champion in the family, but Carla’s 22 now and she’s been line dancing since she was three years old. “All the dancers at the club practise so hard. “It’s a real pleasure to support them.” Carla came first in the elite Allstar Division, while fellow club member Joy Morrison came third. In addition, line dancing newcomer Lucie Rose came first in her category.
