UPDATES on route options for the dualling of the A96 between Fochabers and Hardmuir have been welcomed. Transport Scotland revealed five route options that have been removed from the process. These are: p1 – Hardmuir to Forres Enterprise park; B1 – Easter Newforres to Hardhillock; O7 – Linksfield to Cowfords; R6-R7 – Troves to Balnacoul Wood; O5 (except the easternmost extent) – Forres Enterprise park to Kintrae. Welcoming the news, Moray MSP Richard Lochhead said: “The dualling of the A96 is the biggest infrastructure project Moray will ever have seen and will bring huge benefits to our communities. “It is vital that at the end of the process we have the best possible route selected and it’s good to see that process moving forward with a number of options now removed by Transport Scotland following considerable engagement with local communities.
