
Lythe Care home near Lintmill held a coffee morning for Macmillian.

THERE was a three-figure boost for a cancer charity in store thanks to the residents of a local care home. Staff, residents and volunteers at Lythe Care Home near Lintmill joined together to hold their annual coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on September 22. A warm welcome to all was extended and, despite the bad weather, it was one many decided to take up. Lythe owner Mary Currie said: “Thanks to the generous support of all who came we managed to raise £502.29 for Macmillan, which we’re very pleased with. We got a good turnout
despite the awful weather we had on the day. On behalf of everyone at the Lythe I’d like to thank all those who came along or helped in some way.” As well as the chance to enjoy a cuppa and a tasty snack visitors to the event also had the opportunity to buy a raffle ticket and browse at the sales table. The residents also played their part in the event, joining in the fun with staff.
