CLASSIC car enthusiasts are revving up the anticipation levels as Buckie Classic car Show gets ready to return this coming Sunday. The eagerly awaited annual extravaganza is set to return to Cunningholes industrial estate after moving there last year due to drainage problems at the previous venue, Linzee Gordon Park. Event organisers have also secured parking for up to 500 cars at the new industrial estate nearby, where a free park and ride scheme will be in operation. The site will be well signposted. Over 300 vehicles are set to grace the show, along with motorbikes and, at five tractors. Such was the response to this year’s event organisers were forced to close registration weeks beforehand. One of those who is looking forward to the show was Buckie classic car enthusiast and committee member Steve Thornton. “We’re really looking forward to going back to Cunningholes,” he said. “It’s a fantastic venue for us as it’s a hard standing surface so there’s no problems
if it rains. We’re delighted to have a park and ride this year thanks to the generosity of Gordon Mayne at Mayne’s Coaches who has very kindly provided us with a bus to operate the service. “The car park is a short walk away from the show site but we are encouraging people to use the park and ride for safety reasons. “Obviously it’s great news that the show filled up so quickly with exhibitors and we look forward to welcoming everyone along this coming Sunday.” Set to join the feast of motor memories
will be members of the Lancashire Capri Club with their iconic cars from the late 1960s to the mid-1980s. Various club stands will be joined by a craft tent, raffle, bouncy castle and refreshments. Clan Cancer Support services will also be on hand selling raffles with three great prizes up for grabs. The top prize is a Ferrari Knockhill driving experience, with a mountain bike and helmet and a Meguair’s car cleaning kit the second and third prizes respectively.
