Buckie Regeneration Group have arranged £20,000 of Participatory Budgeting funds for Buckie and want to put YOU in control of how it’s spent.
The ‘Bucks4Buckie’ initiative lets the local community decide for themselves which projects are needed in the area. The project must be sustainable and achievable within the timescale.
What can you apply for
Projects that will:
- Encourage people to visit Buckie, or;
- Make Buckie a better place, or;
- Support the local economy with new or additional services/facilities
Some examples:
- Stage an event that encourages visitors to Buckie
- Purchase of dishwasher, projector, screen or any other goods that would allow new functions to an existing building.
- Purchase of goods to help running workshops/classes
- Create a unique event/activity/product that showcases the heritage of Buckie (e.g. Harbour Days, artwork, etc.)
Your imagination has no limit!
What you can’t apply for
Ongoing running costs such as salaries, heating and lighting, rent, repairs, painting, maintenance.
Who can apply?
Informal groups or voluntary or community organisations (i.e. registered charity; constituted group or club; not for profit company or Community Interest Company; social enterprise) based in Buckie can apply for funding from £500 to £3,500 to put your ideas into action (only one application per group)
How do you apply?
To apply for funding a fully completed application must be received before 5pm on Wednesday 10 April 2019.
It is recommended you have the necessary permissions and/or consents in place prior to making an application.
Your project must be completed and all the money spent by 30April 2020.
Applications that best meet the criteria will be invited to make a two minute presentation at an event open to the public. This will held on 11 May 2019.
All those aged 14 plus attending the event will be eligible to vote on the applications.
