This event will explore three key questions – What are you doing / trying to do in your community? What’s hindering you? What support did / would help you? FUNDING
FCC Scottish Action Fund
The latest round of the Scottish Action Fund welcomes applications from registered charities, community councils, community groups, and local authorities to support community recycling and biodiversity projects as well as improvements to public amenities, parks and historic buildings. Grants of up to £40K are available. The deadline for applications closes on Wednesday 1 December 2021. Find out more here.
Win Donations for Your Organisation
Fundraising website easyfundraising is giving voluntary groups and third sector organisations 1000s of opportunities to win donations this November. When anyone connected to your organisation plays Spin to Win, they could win you anything from 10p – £50 every day. One in ten people are guaranteed to win a donation for their good cause so make sure your organisation is registered with easyfundraising here to take part.
YouthLink Scotland – Youth Work Fund
This month sees a new round of funding to support the delivery of youth programmes that prioritise those most at risk of being involved in antisocial behaviour. Over 3,000 young people between 10 and 24 have benefited in the last year from this fund, with organisations reporting positive changes in behaviour. Mary Salmond Trust
The Mary Salmond Trust offers grants up to £500 to groups and individuals from the North East of Scotland. The trust aims to support the advancement of community development, by encouraging activities that have a public benefit. The Trust is also keen to promote projects which focus on children and young people’s health and welfare, training and education, civic responsibility, and volunteering. Find out more here.

NSPCC – Schools Coordinator
Would you like to help drive the NSPCC’s prevention work in schools? NSPCC is now recruiting Schools Coordinators to areas across Scotland, including Moray. The successful candidates will join a team of school coordinators in the region to deliver their ‘Speak Out Stay Safe’ programme. Findhorn Bay Arts – Emerging Creative Producer
Findhorn Bay Arts are seeking a talented and creative individual to work with them to devise and deliver a creative engagement programme for an Unexpected Garden for Moray. Unexpected Gardens are a key programme of Dandelion, a new innovative initiative inviting people from all over Scotland to grow, share, and celebrate food, music, and ideas with their communities. Fishermen’s Hall – Hall Coordinator
The Fishermen’s Hall is looking for a Coordinator with excellent interpersonal skills to carry out a variety of roles, including liaising with user groups, engaging with the community and taking bookings to name a few. NESS (North East Sensory Services) is seeking to recruit a part-time Fieldwork Assistant based in Elgin. The role will include supporting the fieldwork team in Moray, which delivers NESS’ core services. A qualification to SVQ level 3 in a caring discipline is essential. Moray Pathways – Digital Devices for Unemployed People in Moray
Moray Pathways is delighted to announce that they have been successfully awarded a further 134 digital devices (a combination of Chromebooks, iPads, and Mobile broadband routers) from the Connecting Scotland programme. The devices are available to unemployed young people and adults aged 16 and over who do not have access to a device and/or internet connection at home. Find out more here.
NHS Grampian Seeking Help from Groups to Distribute Test Kits
NHS Grampian is reaching out to community groups in Moray that would be willing to participate in the distribution of LFD (Lateral Flow Device) Test Kits, as part of the twice weekly rapid testing programme. If you are interested in participating, please email Carlene Bray of NHS Grampian here.
Finderne Calendar Project
Ruth at Rafford Village Hall, and Nick Gibbons, a local professional photographer, are organising field trips of up to 8 people each month to photograph the beautiful Finderne area, including nature, wildlife, people and pets. The 12 best photographs will be featured in the 2023 community calendar. There will also be an exhibition which will showcase a more extensive selection of chosen photos. Discover more here.

Do you have an interest in seeing Buckie thrive? Then please provide your experiences of your life in Buckie and any ideas for improvement in the 2021 Buckie Community Survey. The Local Outcome Improvement Plan for Buckie, an initiative of Moray’s Community Planning Partnership, is being refreshed and those involved are keen to get the views of local people on a wide range of issues. Lossiemouth Community Development Trust – Volunteer Treasurer
With their current Treasurer standing down at the end of the year, Lossiemouth Community Development Trust requires a volunteer to fill this critical role. The Treasurer of the trust will be responsible for the day to day running of the Trust accounts. A willing volunteer is asked to pass their details to the Trust Development Officer at DTO@lossietrust.org
