Eagle seeks to soar for Tories

THE Moray Conservatives have selected Buckie councillor Tim Eagle as their constituency candidate for the Scottish Parliament elections in 2021. Councillor Eagle lives in Drybridge with his wife Rachel, who is a local GP, and their three children. Having previously worked as a police officer in Caithness, he is now an agricultural assessor and runs a small farm. The 39-year-old, who was elected in 2017, was selected by the local association of the Moray Conservatives and Unionists at an extraordinary general meeting. Chairman Neil McLeod said: “I am delighted… that Tim Eagle has been selected to contest the Moray seat. “Tim is well known for the hard work he does as a councillor and as leader of the Conservative group of councillors and we know that his hard work and dedication make him the perfect candidate to represent us all in Moray.” Councillor Eagle said he was honoured and humbled to be selected. He said: “Even until recently I never imagined myself being in this position but having spoken to many Conservative supporters, I was persuaded to fight this election and, if elected, work hard to represent everyone in Moray.
