THE finishing touches are being applied to a variety of works as Portgordon Art Group’s eagerly awaited annual exhibition draws near. Spey Bay Hall will once again play host to the two-day display of talent. Looking ahead to the event, group member Kitty Bell said: “We’re all really looking forward to this year’s exhibition. “As always, all the works on display will be original pieces created by group members over the course of the last year. “The subject matter of the
pieces on display will vary greatly and have been created in acrylic, watercolour, oil, pastel, pencil, pen and ink and so on. “Group chair Alanda Calmus will be will be undertaking a pastel painting during the exhibition and raffle tickets will be on sale with a pastel by her of the winner’s choice as the main prize. “This will be worth approximately £200. “There will also be a great variety of mounted but unframed paintings, allowing the purchaser to choose frame of their choice. “We hope to welcome both old friends and new faces to our exhibition this year – all are welcome!” The exhibition will open its doors to the public on Saturday, July 27 at 10am, running through the day until 5pm. On the Sunday, the opening times are 10am to 4pm. Entry costs £1, which includes a refreshment, with children getting in free. Portgordon Art Group meet every Friday from 1.30pm in Clochan Community Centre and embrace amateur artists of all abilities.
